Be it ever so humble......

...there is no place like home. It is good to be home.

Wednesday was a tough day. Faith was unable to keep anything down, so I brought her (and the whole crew) to the doctor in the morning. The doctor sent us home to try re-hydrating her, but it wasn't working. My Mommy alarms were going off. She was pitiful. Wherever I put her down, she just layed there like a chalk drawing of a homicide victim. I tried calling friends to come and watch the others, but nobody could come. After a lunch of Domino's pizza and juice boxes (I needed an easy lunch that everyone would eat!) I put Joe and Eve down for a short nap and made plans to bring her back in. When I went up to get Eve and Joe up, I found Eve naked from the waste down, and poop all over the crib. ?!!?!??!?!!

At the doctor's office they gave me the option of giving Faith the night at home to see if we could get her re-hydrated, or admit her to the hospital. She was so limp and sad, I knew she needed to be admitted that day.

What Faith needed the most was IV fluids. At the hospital they started trying to get an IV in her right hand, then her left, then the right again, then the left, then the right foot, then the left foot, then the right hand, then the left hand. She just layed there while I stroked her head and talked and sang to her. We took a break and let her drink some juice, which stayed down long enough to plump a good vein. Right hand, left hand, right hand - success!!!! The doctor was visibly relieved and Faith was on her way to recovery.

By lunchtime on Thursday she wanted her shoes on and was venturing into the halls. Soon she was sprinting with me running behind her with the IV pole! The nurses agreed it was time to go home!

She's still feeling bad, but at least we are home!
