The Barretts go to the Beach

It was a spur of the moment trip. No, really! That doesn't happen very often with four small kids. We just needed to get out of the house and go somewhere fun and different.

We continue to marvel at how different our kids are. Everyone had a different reaction to the beach.

Faith absolutely REFUSED to let her feet touch the sand. If we tried to put her down her feet flew up in the air! She preferred to stay on Daddy's shoulders.

Joe was stressed out by the whole scene. Every time a wave crashed he would say, "OH NO!" He also kept pointing at the rocks in the sand and saying, "Mess!" While he would walk a bit, he wanted to be held by me the whole time.

Eve loved the ocean. She got her feet wet, threw rocks in the water,

and wandered down the beach.

I think she would have kept going if we let her.

Lili loves the beach.

She got right in the water and splashed.

And got buried!

Maybe next Summer everyone will enjoy it.

Wow, beach anxiety! I guess it is a pretty big experience the first time.
