Yesterday we got the news we've been waiting (and waiting) for; Jim got a job offer. A genuine, professional, white collar job with benefits and paid vacation. Our friends and family are cheering and rejoicing, while I think the primary feeling in our house is relief. Even with this income we will be far from covering our expenses, but certainly a lot closer. It is a step in the right direction and will provide opportunities for career advancement and future financial blessings. Perhaps the biggest blessing will be restoring us to the right order, putting Jim back in the drivers seat of his own career and establishing some normalcy to our daily routine. The fruits of this will surely be seen in the coming months.
All my life whenever I've had some news to share with my parents I've always opted to first tell my Mom. She never fails to give the best response, exhibit the most excitement, offer the quickest validation and support. I chose to call my Dad first with this news and was not disappointed. Exuberant screams of relief and congratulations.....from DAD! It was cool.

Kids say the funniest things.
Faith:
While snuggled in my arms she grinned at Daddy and said, "I love Mommy."
As I'm struggling to return her to the stroller and strap her in she screams, "Mommy, let go of me!"
To her brother she said, "There you go Joe, how about that?"
After dropping a CD case on the floor - "Oh Mommy I broke it."
After Jim had to scold Joseph for something. "Naughty boy! Naughty boy!"
Liliana:
While examining my children necklace (4 charms - three girls and a boy) she apparently wanted to include Cindy Brady in our family. She pointed to each charm and said, "Lili, Joseph, Eve, and Cindy." I said, "What about Faith?" She replied, "She's on vacation."
We were examining the quilt on Lili's wall before bed one night and I remarked about a baby on it who looked surprised. Lili informed me he was indignant.
Liliana is very creative. She has elaborate fantasies which range from trips to stay with the Brady Bunch in California, to building a play house in the snow bank out front. Her latest is that she is going to have a baby and be a Mommy. The tricky part is that I'm supposed to grow the baby in MY tummy. Today she asked me if she could watch the baby being put in my tummy.

Am I really the first to comment? Well you can tell Liliana that I am simply INDIGNANT.
