The triplets had their two year check-up this week. Everyone got a good report, with only one new ear infection (Eve).

Here are their stats:

Joe
26lbs 3oz
35 1/8 inches long

Eve
23lbs 2oz
33 1/2 inches long

Faith
19lbs 12oz
33inches long

Some recent accomplishments:

Joseph
Joseph has started to babble and say words. Prior to the last couple of weeks he was pretty quiet, grunting and pointing mostly. Now he not only says words like, "juice, shoes, snack, Momma, Dadda, and bear", he also chatters on the phone. Joe can jump with both feet coming off the floor, and easily climbs into and out of the tub. He climbs the stairs in a flash, and is close to doing it with alternating feet.

Eve
Eve has been starting to use English words (as opposed to her native tongue of Swedish). She is very proud of this and will clap for herself. She loves music and loves to dance, turning in a circle and clapping her hands. She also has a great hip swinging dance. Eve notices EVERYTHING. If you're looking for something, ask Eve. She can identify all kinds of things in her picture books. She has also figured out how to get out of the straps on her booster seat.

Faith
Faith has developed good manners, often saying "Please" or "Thank you" without prompting. We've been having fun testing the limits of her intelligence. When reading a picture book with a flower in it I asked her, "What kind of flower is that?" (I had told her a couple of times, but not in the past week.) She paused a moment, then said, "Daf-dil" Yes, it was a daffodil. Faith can also jump with both feet coming off the floor, and she can go up the stairs without using her hands.

Liliana
Liliana continues her creative fantasies - the latest being her impending wedding to Andrew (neighborhood friend). She is reading many simple words and we are working on reading the time on her princess clock. When there isn't time for a bath, she will settle for a shower and likes to do it all by herself. While it is difficult for her to share our attention, she is a big help to me around the house, and so often impresses me with her love for her brother and sisters; kissing and hugging them, telling them she loves them. She is proud to be the "Big Sister", and is quick to instruct her brother and sisters.

When do they graduate to being "tall" instead of "long?"

They get to be "tall" when they are measured standing up! They still lay them down on the paper-covered table and mark the paper at head and foot. Usually they have to re-measure somebody because they get confused which mark was for which kid. ;-)
