Changes in Play and Language

This Summer has brought significant changes in the language and play of our children. They spend much more time playing together.

They organizing simple games like, "SAVE ME!" where one child is the victim crying for help and the other's rush to help them.

Lili has always loved dress up. Here she is as.......Mary Poppins!

Now she has three friends who love dress up too!

Liliana likes to be the "gymnastics teacher". Dressed in a swim suit she will have her brother and sisters follow her from one side of the living room to the other, running or skipping in some way that they try to imitate.

They also love to pretend they are cats. This is absolutely hysterical. Four kids all crawling on the floor "meowing" and begging to be petted. The other night after dinner Lili and Eve played a game involving the stacking of "cat food" (aka Faith's formula cans).

Faith's sentences continue develop, and she understands and verbalizes concepts like "between", which is impressive. She sometimes searches for a word, repeating the grown up time filler "ummm". Not the best habit, but very cute.

Here she is reclined on the couch eating goldfish crackers. 2 1/2 going on 20.

Eve's Swedish speak is now punctuated with recognizable words. "blah, blah, blah, Mommy, blah, blah, snack, blah blah, juice"

Joe's speech is so cute. I love how he puckers his lips when asking for "Juuuuuuuuice". Yes is "hes", please is "peez", snack is "nack!" and thanks is "hanks!" We're working on making his pronunciation of truck acceptable in public. ;-) He must have some French in him because he tends to emphasize the second syl-LA-ble. moMEEEE! daDEEE! elMO!

What can I say about my beautiful Liliana. Here she is dressed up and waiting to go see her first fireworks on the 4th of July. No longer afraid of the loud noise, she had the time of her life with Daddy.

They do indeed grow up too fast.

Can't wait for them to turn into teenagers... especially after seeing that couch pose by Faith!

Today at Church I brought Eve up to my dad and she said "That's Rob!" and she was very proud of herself. Then during peace today, I saw Joe stick out his hand to the person in front of him and say "Peace!" just like a grownup. It was so cute! Then there was the time when I was in the kitchen at your house and I hear "MERF! MERF!" so I run to look and Faith is sitting there and then she says "I miss you!"
