Sounds from the monitor

I thought it was time to share some of the things we've heard over the baby monitor. We get a big kick out of listening to them. The first amusement began as simple laughter between the triplets as they interacted before going to sleep. They were hysterical. Then Eve learned to reach up and pluck the wire in the side of the window, producing a loud "TWANG!", which was ALWAYS followed by gales of laughter.

Now that they have more language skills, here are some things heard over the monitor.

"Mommy? Mommy? MoMEEEEEEE!"

"Mommy! Where are you?"

"Daddy!"

"Daddy gone? Daddy GONE! Mommy GONE!"

"NO JOE!"

"That's MINE!"

"I go potty!"

"Kaia? KAIA!!!!" (Lili's neighborhood friend who often stops by. They love Kaia.)

"BLLLLLLLHH" (or however you'd spell a raspberry)

"I seep in Mommy's bed! Mommy!"

"I stuck!!!!"

"Mommy hold me!!!!"

"Help me Mommy! PEEEZ!"

"Jump!"

"I go tub!"

"She's in the bathroom."

"Where my Elmo?"

"Mommy taking shower?"

"I want bottle!"

" 'Poon full of sugar, 'poon full of sugar" (Faith likes to sing "Spoon Full of Sugar")

"Do deer, do deer" (Faith and Eve will sing this)

There are two things we dread hearing.

One is the sound of vomiting. This happens a lot lately. Faith has such separation anxiety from me that she will scream and cry for a very long time in her crib at bedtime. She gets so worked up that she will vomit. Lili used to do this. However, with Faith it has long lasting consequences as she will suffer from painful gas the rest of the night.

The other thing we dread hearing (and coincidentally happened as I wrote this post) is...

"Poopy!"

While it can just be a ploy to get out of taking a nap, we've learned to respond to this one right away before things get messy. Today I got to Eve before she had smeared it everywhere, but she had unsnapped her onesie and got her diaper off with ease. After I changed her she started to rip it off again, so it was time for duck tape. One strip around her waist has hopefully secured it for nap time! She was a little concerned when I put it on, so I told her it was her special silver belt, with the power to protect her crib from being soiled. She seemed to like that.

I hope it holds.

Amazing how quickly you came up with the SILVER BELT!!!!!!!!!
(and you wonder where they get the creativity)
Or else it was the act of a mother determined to have a bit of a break before nap time was over.
After spending the morning with you,can understand both.
