Holy Graffiti Batman!

Liliana was 4 when the wall art started. I think it was a combination of creativity and rebellion. She drew stick people and circles. A couple of months ago I started to notice that crosses were showing up.....

Now, I've never been a fan of graffiti, but how can you get mad at a child who is drawing religious symbols? Could this be some sort of spiritual expression? Is my little girl destined for the convent?

Everywhere, there were crosses. I didn't say anything to her.....I just pondered it......

In her room.

In the hallway.

Here's one by my side of the bed. Oddly comforting.

Not limited to crayon, she even used stickers.

And then........one day I was coming down the stairs..........and I had an epiphany.

There on the door was the purple Lenten cross from church. We had received them in the bulletin and were instructed to put it on our door to remind us we were observing the season of Lent. (Yes, I know, we're in the season of Easter now.....decorating is not high on my priority list.)

So, the truth is,......I started it.
