Sacred Heart and our Chewing Girl

Today Liliana had her kindergarten evaluation at Sacred Heart School. We actually arrived early (wow) and were warmly greeted by Cathy Smith (the principal) who used to be the director of religious education at our church. I love the atmosphere at this school. I normally garner quite a bit of attention when I go anywhere with four kids, three in a tandem stroller. Sacred Heart is THE ONLY PLACE I've gone where I haven't received even a moderately rude comment. There is a spirit of life and love there. (AKA The Holy Spirit) Seriously, you wouldn't believe the things people say to us in public! Once at a park Jim overheard a man say he'd kill himself if he had triplets. Many people say, "OMG! You poor thing!" or attempt at being nice by saying, "God bless you!" with an obvious implication that I am in dire need of blessing. I always reply with, "He has."

Lili's evaluation went well and I was told we should expect a letter in a week. She was her usual charming self. Even the triplets were well behaved. Kids know when they are loved and appreciated.

The one shocker was that Lili failed the hearing test in one ear. She recently had an ear infection but finished her antibiotic over a week ago. Hmmmm......maybe she hasn't been using selective hearing!? I took her temp. when we got home and it was 99. Back to the doctor. He examined her and said she has residual fluid that should clear up within a couple of weeks. This was our second visit this week. Poor Faith found out she was allergic to the antibiotic she was on. Here's our little itchy girl.

"I Itchy Mommy!"

The biggest news of the week is that Faith is CHEWING!!!!! This is huge. We've been working with a feeding/swallowing specialist and nutritionist for months. Monday night I was holding her while she "mouthed" a graham cracker when I suddenly realized she was CHEWING! I said, "Faith! You're chewing!!!" She smiled at me and said, "I chewing!"
